It’s never been this simple to think outside the box when creating multi-channel contact maps.
Your considerations for any map you’ve created can be accessed easily from the top left corner of your map.
You’ll notice that there are many considerations here and you don’t need to use them all. You can even create your own!
These considerations are meant to help you think about the foundation to your map, give it the professional back up it needs to explain it’s business rules, and allow you to think outside of the box while creating multi-channel communication strategies.
00:01 Hi there, so today we’re going to talk about how to create a random split.
00:06 You want to click on create a map, and we’re going to call this a loyalty test. You want to define your segments. Let’s say this is recent customers, and we’re going to click on plus, and we’re going to create the split right off the bat. Click on the split, and we want to define what that means.
00:30 So here you see 100%, we’re going to call this a Creative Direct Mail Test. So for the 100%, let’s say one-half of the people are going to get the red mailer and then we’re going to add another group that’s going to get the blue mailer. You need to change the percentage here. It says 100 down here, zero here. You want to put your cursor on the zero and put in 50%. You can add in as many splits as you like, you can add in three, four, five. I would recommend keeping it simple. You can x them out here.
01:09 I’m just going to do two in this example. Click on split and now you’ve got a 50/50 diagram here. So what’s going to happen on the left, we’re going to create a direct mail piece that is blue, and you can fill out as much or as little of the description as you want to help you keep track of what’s what and on the other side we’re going to click channel again, and we’re going to click on direct mail, and this is the red.
01:47 There you have it. You’ve got half of your audience getting the blue mailer, half of the audience getting your red mailer and you’re testing one against another. This is your typical A/ B test.
01:57 If you want to join these two groups back together, you click on the plus here. You click on join, it’ll identify where you can join too, you just click on this blue box and now you’re back into one stream. So whatever you do next, if you want to send an email out to the whole group, follow up. That email is going to go out to everyone, the blue, and the red. That’s it, I’m going to end the campaign there.
02:24 I hope you have a lot of fun thinking about A / B tests, you can think about creative tests, channel tests, message tests. There’s a whole lot of things you can do here, so happy mapping.
