It’s never been this simple to think outside the box when creating multi-channel contact maps.
Your considerations for any map you’ve created can be accessed easily from the top left corner of your map.
You’ll notice that there are many considerations here and you don’t need to use them all. You can even create your own!
These considerations are meant to help you think about the foundation to your map, give it the professional back up it needs to explain it’s business rules, and allow you to think outside of the box while creating multi-channel communication strategies.
00:00 Hi there, so today we’re going to talk about triggered splits. What you want to do is click on create a map, come to a blank canvas, and I’m going to continue with the theme of customer acquisition. We’ll do men ages 30-45, and you want to click on the plus to bring up your control panel, and we’re going to create an email. So, for this email you can fill out a few things called email number one, this is a coupon offer. Subject line could be something like Save $10, and in components, there’s a link to coupon. So on and so forth, you can fill out as much or as little of these channel descriptions as you like.
00:58 You want to add that channel and then maybe you want to wait five days, let’s define this as a five day wait time. We’re going to create a triggered split, and right here is your trigger button. You click on that, and you want to define the trigger, and what that means is a decision point in your campaign.
01:23 So, for this example, let’s say the trigger decision point is whether or not somebody downloaded the coupon, yes or no. And to the left is a checkbox, that means they did download the coupon, so the X means they did not download the coupon. For those who did download the coupon, let’s say that we’re going to send them a text message. The title will be Thank You and the message will be redeem a coupon now. And that’s it.
02:09 After that, the campaign is over, so I’m going to click end for that group of people. For those who did not download the coupon, go back to your control panel, and we’re going to wait two more days to contact them again because we’re giving them a chance to respond. If they do respond, they’re going to go over here on the left, but if they still don’t respond we’re going to send them a reminder email.
02:38 This would be the reminder, and the subject line is Don’t Lose Out. And we’re going to send them another link to the coupon within that email, and we click add. Then, after two emails, we’re going to end the campaign there. So there you have it, you have created a really simple triggered split. Just remember, a trigger is something that is a decision point in your campaign that creates a yes or no, or and if/then logic within your strategy. I hope you try this out, it’s a great way to engage your audience and be really relevant to any segment that you’re targeting. Happy mapping.
